The well known sparkplug for Abnaki & USS Hector is  Pete Pilgrim.  Pete served aboard Abnaki in 1946-1949.  Besides contributing many, many hours to the Abnaki, (Pete is the writer of the famed Abnaki Courier), Pete also is involved with the USS Hector reunions .  Pete would rather this page was not here.  Unfortunately the Web guy did not give him the password.  Send your favorite "Pete Pilgrim" story to Snipe@USSAbnaki.com.  We would love to display a few!
