Pete Kingsley --- Pete Pilgrim
Once again we have been pretty busy planning all the activities for the reunion.
As you will see we have a fairly busy schedule however, we think that we have
planed everything so as to leave some time for everyone to do their own thing,
shopping, golfing, sightseeing, etc. However, there is so much to see and do in
Branson that you may want to come a few days early and/or stay over for a while.
If you have been to Branson recently you know that it is a great place for a
vacation. If you have never been to Branson you owe it to yourself to come and
discover one of the best vacation spots in the country.
Following are a few things
that we feel that you should pay special attention to.
 |
As you probably know by
now all flights to Branson will come in at the Springfield/Branson airport,
which is about 40 miles north of Branson. Grayline of the Ozarks, provides a
shuttle service to Branson from the airport. They have a service counter
inside the terminal and will provide service on demand, however, they suggest
that you call ahead for reservations. The number for the Shuttle is
1-800-542-6768. As a practical matter (The shuttle is fairly expensive) it may
be better to rent a car and drive down especially if you intend to visit other
than downtown Branson. It is a beautiful area of the country and you may want
to consider this option. Caution: If you
plan to visit some of the more scenic spots plan plenty of time. The roads
mostly follow the hills and valleys, of which there are many and some are
pretty steep. |
 |
As you know by now there are
approximately 60 different shows and attractions available in Branson and
although we haven’t visited all of them we are told that they are all good.
However, we hope that you will seriously consider the ones that we have made
reservations for. They are all very good, all within a block of the hotel and
the tickets are all discounted a couple of bucks. It is impossible to see
everything Branson has to offer in a few short days so you may want to come
early and stay late.
|
 |
Reminder: We plan to have the usual
“Saturday Night Raffle” and anticipate having some really neat prizes.
However, any donations for the raffle or something for door prizes will be
greatly appreciated. The money raised will go into the Association’s general
fund and be used exclusively for Association business.

 |
We plan to have a lot of activity
along with the traditional treats (popcorn, potato chips, etc) in the
hospitality rooms. However, here is a suggestion for those of you who like to
make and show off your skills at making treats and goodies. If you would like
to make a few dozen of your favorites to share with the crew please feel free
to bring them along. HINT! Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin (with lots of nuts)
Yum Yum! We realize that for some of you, even if you would like to do
something like this, it would be difficult to squeeze them in your luggage so…
please don’t feel obligated. Just an idea!
|
 |
The Thursday evening “Cook-In” will also
be the “Official Welcome Aboard”. So plan to come early and feast on some of
the best chow in the Ozarks and perhaps listen to a few sea stories. We are
planning to have an “open mike” session so… have your sea stories ready!
|
 |
Just in case you are wondering about the
$5.00 registration fee here is the scoop. We are planning on a lot of action
especially in the hospitality room and this money will be ear marked for that.
Hopefully it will eliminate the need for a “Donation Can”!
