Thursday, Tour of Washington DC

We plan to depart the hotel about 09:00 for Washington DC. We will visit several of the memorials as well as the Arlington Cemetery. We will try to make sure that we are there for the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown! If you have never witnessed this you owe it to yourself to join us there. We plan to return to the Hotel no later than 16:00 at which time the hospitality room will open so you will be able to wash the road dust from your throatJ

We also plan to stop at the appropriate time and place for our box lunch. Adolph highly recommends that you select the “Southern Maryland Stuffed Ham” according to him it will melt in your mouth.

At 18:00 we will have the official welcome aboard in the hospitality room. Hot wings (Both hot and mild) along with a lot of other goodies will be served.

Friday, Tour of the Naval Academy

Plan to leave the hotel at 09:00 for a tour of the Navy Academy and Down Town Annapolis. We will have lunch in the Drydock Restaurant. (See registration Form for menu) We will plan on returning to the hotel no later than 16:00 when, again the hospitality room will open to refresh all the weary travelers.

Important: Everyone must have a Picture ID to enter the Naval Academy. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday

This will be a free day except for a short Crew meeting in the Hospitality room at 09:00. Remember there are many things to see and do in this area so maybe you should take advantage of the opportunity.

Pre-banquet activities start at 18:00 in the dining room. (Exact room to be announced) The banquet will start at 19:00 when you will be treated to a great Southern Buffet featuring the following. Fried Chicken, BBQ Pork Loin, Green Beans, Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob, Macaroni and Cheese, Tossed Salad, Baked Beans, Corn Bread and Peach Cobbler. Includes Coffee, Tea, Rolls and Butter. Yum, Yum!

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Note: In case you forgot the “Uniform of the Day” is just about whatever you are comfortable in.

Remember, Uniforms are always appropriate!!!

Don’t forget, once again we are planning on holding the “Fleet Wide Famous” Abnaki raffle, so… if you have something you would like to donate for a good cause, bring it along! Adolph and Barbara are planning on bringing another Lighthouse and a quilt. If you remember the lighthouse they had in Branson you know how beautiful it is. I cannot comment on the quilt, since I haven’t seen it but I already want it. Maybe if we are lucky we can get Joe Colombara to bring some more of his award winning Abnaki wine. I don’t know how it tasted but it sure did look good.

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

For those of you who were at the Branson reunion you will remember that we had sent out a plea for goodies for the hospitality room and how successful the response was. Now we are doing it again. If you have room in your travel plans and happen to have a knack for making goodies bring them on. Whatever it is will be greatly appreciated.
